But it wasn’t until he began to travel and explore unique and scenic locations in Canada and around the world that he was able to find his personal style as a photographer and discovered his passion for nature and landscape photography.

A Journey into Creativity with Bharat Mistry
Many of you know him. Some of you may have even worked with him. Few have figured out how his mind works. Now, Bharat Mistry joins us for an evening to share with us what influences his creativity and how he develops some of the amazing images seen in his portfolio.
This will be a fun, casual evening with a presentation of some of his work and how they came to be. He’ll walk us through his thought process in developing his ideas and executing the concepts. The presentation will be followed by a demo showing how an ordinary image is given the wow factor to make it truly creative and unique.

APC September Meeting – “Vision Beyond Seeing” with Don Komarechka

The start of the 2015/2016 APC season is just around the corner, and we are excited to have Don Komarechka returning to the APC. As many of our current members will remember, Don wowed us with his Marco presentation last February and we are sure to be wowed by his new presentation “Vision Beyond Seeing”.

Date: Tuesday September 22, 2015
Ajax Community Centre – HMS Room
Doors open at 6:30 PM

“Vision Beyond Seeing” is a presentation that aims to close the gap between how we see the world and how a camera captures an image. The differences are vast, and we don’t perceive the world in terms of focal length, shutter speed, dynamic range or many other “camera terms” when we enjoy beautiful scenery. The camera sees things much different than us, so how do we capture an image that represents the scene as we see it?

DKP_5305

There are techniques to make an image look very similar to the way we remember it, and there are techniques to present images that we could never imagine seeing with our own eyes. Each has their value, but creativity reigns supreme.

This presentation will try to answer a few difficult questions – what is creativity and how do I find it, and how do I think outside the box? How do I make something new and interesting, and how do I use the camera as extension of my own vision? How and why would I want to previsualize a scene, and what happens when I don’t get the results I expect? There will be many tangents. The material will be entertaining. You’ll leave with countless new ideas and the inspiration to execute them.

SEE YOU ALL IN SEPTEMBER!

Registration at Member Meeting 23-Sept

Ajax Photography Club
Steve Dockrill - 1st Place Pictorial Digital

Hello New Members and APC returning Members,

September is upon us and that means it’s time to renew your membership for another fun, informative, and exciting year.

Our Club is now in its fifth year, and your Executive, which includes some familiar faces as well as some new ones, is working hard to ensure that the APC continues to develop in a way which helps its members realise their personal goals – whether that goal is to improve your photographic skills or just to enjoy the company of fellow photographers.

Once again we’ll feature talented key note speakers at our monthly member meetings who will inspire and help you take your photography to new heights.

Through our new Creative Committee, the APC is bringing back the Mentoring Program and your favourite classes, as well as designing new classes which feature hands-on demonstrations and assignments for photographers of all skill levels.

And we haven’t forgotten our outings, field trips, intra-club and GTCCC competitions, and socials. Last year our “Christmas Social and Digital Competition” and “Friendly Photo Feedback Nights” at Debbie’s Café were member favourites, and we’re doing them again.  All these activities and more with your $70 membership. (Payable by cash or cheque only.)

Please renew your membership during our first monthly members’ meeting at the Rotary Pavilion in Ajax on Tuesday the 23rd of September at 6:30pm – and bring a friend.   We look forward to welcoming you back to the APC for another year.
