
APC Class: : Creative Colour in Photography
Colour is one of the first things we notice. It surrounds us. It affects us in many ways. This introductory course explores the use of colour in creating a compelling photograph. We will start with an overview of the principles and theory of colour. Then, in hands-on exercises, we’ll then practice using that knowledge to create some colourful compositions.
Topics: the colour wheel; spot colouring; complementary ratios; hue, saturation, luminance; exposure compensation tips
Hands-on Exercises: Participants will have a various props to use in creating images that demonstrate the principles and simplicity of colour combinations.
COURSE PREREQUISITES:
Participants should be comfortable with the functions of the their camera, and should have basic knowledge of composition.
Bring your camera, fresh batteries, and memory cards.
