Finding Inspiration

Do you struggle to find inspiration? Are you sometimes stuck in the photographic doldrums? Did your camera gather dust during the months of pandemic lockdowns? Do you ever worry you won’t see anything that will inspire you to pick it up again?

You are not alone! Join professional photographer Kas Stone on a quest for inspiration in our photographic lives. This presentation tackles some important questions:

• What is inspiration and where does it come from?
• What are the common roadblocks to inspiration and how can we overcome them?
• How can we kick-start inspiration when we are feeling uninspired?
• How can we harness inspiration to create more compelling images?

Kas will share ideas, stories and images from her own portfolio, and suggest some visual exercises that will inspire you to create fresh new images of your own.

Kas Stone is a professional photographer based in Port Felix, at the remote eastern edge of Nova Scotia, where she finds plenty of inspiration in the wild coastal scenery and moody weather right outside her door. Her portfolio includes an extensive list of presentations, exhibitions and publications, with several books and feature articles in Canadian and U.K. magazines.
