APC September Meeting – New season and we welcome back, Michael Willems.

The start of the 2017/2018 APC season is just around the corner, and we are excited to have one of our favourite presenters back to kick off the new season. Michael Willems will be presenting his topic, “DEVELOPING YOUR STYLE”

Michael will be discussing the following;

BASICS: Why style? What is behind your style? Who else has a recognizable style? Being Recognizable. Elements of style

CREATING YOUR STYLE: Knowing the basics. Breaking the rules. Can you choose your style? Defining your style. Refining your style.

AND THEN FINALLY… Squaring the circle: Style, development, and change.

If you’ve ever seen one of Michael’s presentations, you know this is one you don’t want to miss out on.

Due to a health issue, Margaret Hines will not be available to speak at our October meeting.

It is with great pleasure and much gratitude that Michael Willems has agreed to fill in last minute. Michael will be presenting his Composition and Photography Troubleshooting.


An award-winning event-, art-, family,- and commercial photographer, Michael Willems can help you. He shoots CEOs, weddings, families, companies, news, magazines, sports, fashion models, stock, government and commercial.


His love is the art of light and composition. He is a master of the up-to-date technical side, and has a BSc(Eng) in Electronic Engineering. He is a member of NPAC and has earned LPPO licentiate status. He received a Halton Police Photo of the Year award, was selected to be part of Photosensitive’s Picture Change project and “Aging Canada” projects, and won the 2013 OAC Cogeco “Stars Among Us” digital art award.


Michael has worked in 38 countries. He is a full time photographer and he teaches at Sheridan College and at his own school, CameraTraining.ca

As an all-round photographer, Michael can shoot everything. As a photojournalist, he likes long-term projects. He loves people and hence, portraying them. He has worked in over 35 countries, but there is beauty in every place.
