APC January Meeting – Travel photography with Award-Winning Photographer & Educator Michael Willems

The APC is excited to kick off the new year by welcoming back, award-winning photographer and educator, Michael Willems as guest speaker for our January meeting.

Michael will be discussing the do’s and don’ts of Travel Photography.

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 at 7pm
Ajax Community Centre – HMS Room
75 Centennial Rd, Ajax, ON  L1S 4S4
Doors open at 6:30pm

45. That’s how many worldwide countries Michael Willems has worked in; first as an engineer, then as a business person, and above all as a photographer. As you might imagine, he picked up a tip or two in those years, and he can help you save some time.

Michael, who is a full-time award-winning photographer and educator, teaches at Sheridan College, and privately worldwide. His special subjects are travel photography and flash photography. In this presentation, you will get useful tips and tricks about preparation, about safety, about what to bring, and especially, about how to make sure your photos tell a story. Interspersed with many example photos, Michael will give you practical guidelines that help you come back with photos your friends and neighbours will actually want to look at.

Why do we make travel photos? How do you get enough time for yourself? How do you ensure your safety? What composition guidelines work best? How to approach the subject of “people”? All these questions and more are addressed by Michael.
