The APC continues to provide great educational and creative workshops/events to take your photography to the next level. The following is a list of upcoming classes available to our APC members.

APC Class: Off Camera Flash with Fencing Athletes

TUESDAY, June 5th, 2018 – 6:45 PM

Rotary Park Pavilion
177 Lake Driveway West, Ajax, ON

COST: $15.00 / PER PERSON

Fun with Off Camera Flash Technical and Demonstrations: Subject Model: Fencing Duels with two members of the Ajax Fencing Club. Two Backgrounds will be set up for static posing of the Athletes, all using your Canon, Nikon, Godox and Youngou flashes:

What you will Learn:

  • Manual Settings, adjusting power
  • Using Lightstands & Modifiers
  • playing with softboxes, gels, diffusers
  • Using Remotes: pocket wizards, generic remotes
  • Putting on light stands and flash attachments
  • Using Umbrella Diffusers and other Modifiers
  • Rapid Repeat Multi-Exposure.
  • Demo: Rapid exposure to freeze subject arms moving
  • Will make a checklist so all can participate

Skill Level: Intermediate, Must be comfortable with features on the camera and speed light. Please bring your camera, external flash, fresh batteries, formatted memory cards, remotes, light stands and umbrellas if you have some.


Workshop: Capture Intent 5_Summary session

TUESDAY, June 12th, 2018 – 6:45 PM

Chartwell Parkway
1645 Pickering Parkway · Pickering, ON

COST: $15.00 / PER PERSON

This workshop is focused on the first steps, the capture stage of making an image. This is for photographers who wish to more strongly Capture their Intent. Your Intent is what you want your photo to speak to people as they are viewing the image.

The topic is Summary for all of the 4 Intent topics.

Content: The workshop will be Light on lecture and Heavy on Photo examples and healthy discussion. “All us are smarter than any of us, So the value all goes up when you share.” – Seth Godin. Group discussion will be interactive and provide strong learning opportunities for seeing each of the elements at work within the photos.

Benefit: Members will recognize how and Why the use of the Elements in photos is strong and will be able to compare strengths and weaknesses of these elements in photos. Members will be comfortable applying these elements in their photos to capture their intent more strongly.

Levels: Advanced/ Intermediate/ Novice, the workshop is applicable for all levels. Michael & Roy will lead the sessions. No specific equipment is needed.
